What is multi-factor authentication?

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds a verification code from an authenticator app to your password, helping protect your account if your password is compromised.

How sign-in will work starting October 7

  1. Sign in with your usual username and password.
  2. The first time you set up MFA, scan your QR code with a compatible authenticator app, such as Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator. Other apps that support time-based one-time passwords (TOTP) also work.
  3. Enter the code shown in your app to finish signing in. After setup, you’ll use an app code when prompted at sign-in.
